Who are we?
We are a group of young students who share a strong desire to unite
those with a common passion for visual art. We created this website
to give our members an organized, creative, and interactive way to
grow and develop as an artist. Our intentions are to bring together
the talents of all artists and help them pursue artistic work with
growing abilities. By using what we learned in school and from each
other, we have assembled a community designed with you in mind!
What do we do?
We have created an online community for artists and photographers
to interact with one another and to strengthen their artistic abilities.
Here, artists and photographers can upload their artwork to be displayed
on their own personal profile and to be submitted into various contests.

As well as having many contests on our site, we also offer opportunity
listings from outside organizations and companies. This web site also
contains a forum for discussing of any topic, a system of awards and
trophies to commend our members on their accomplishments, a commenting
system to critique and help out others, a gallery to browse all different
types of art and artists, and a Tips &
Resources page for external links and help.
What separates us from the others?
Here at VisualContest, we reward members for their participation
and achievements in our community. Not only do artists become recognized
as they submit artwork, but they are also able to earn awards and
trophies as they excel. The top ranked artists are those who participate
most in the community, achieve the most awards, and win the most contests.

and to receive as much feedback as possible within the art community.
We want to offer our members every opportunity, every contest, and
every call to visual art as much as we can.

Registration and login:
How do I register?
So, you've decided to join our community? You'll be glad that you
did! To register to our web site, simply click on the "Sign
Up" button on the top right hand corner of any page on the
site.
Why should I register with VisualContest.com?
Once you have become a registered user, you can involve yourself
in an endless amount of opportunities. When you login, you can start
right away by uploading a piece of your artwork onto the web site.
As soon as you do this, your piece is automatically in the running
to win one of our Weekly Contests! Not only can you participate in
the weekly and many other contests, but as a registered user you can
create your own personal profile, create a gallery of your artwork,
gain awards and trophies, increase your numbers of voting for every
contest, and communicate with other registered users.
What if I forgot my password?
We all make mistakes sometimes, so if you happen to misplace
or forget your password, we can get it back to you in no time! Simply
click on the "Forgot My Password"
button on the top right hand corner of any page and provide us with
either your username or the e-mail address that you have registered
with us. We will email your login information directly to you.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, click on the "Edit My Profile"
button on your profile page, then click on "Password". Provide
the necessary information, and your password will automatically be
changed.
Profile:
How do I create my profile?
Once you become a registered user, your profile is automatically
created. After that, it’s then just a matter of personalizing it.
Simply click on the "Edit My Profile" button and from here
you can share your location, interests, favorite artists, personal
quotes, and of course, artwork!
How do I edit my profile?
If you happen to want to change any of the information in
your profile, just click on the "Edit My Profile" button
on your profile page and alter the information. You can also add or
delete artwork in this section.
How do I improve my awards earning in my profile?
Having more awards and trophies will improve your rank on
our web site. To earn more awards, simply access our Awards
& Trophies section and view the standards that must be met
to attain a specific award. Once you have worked hard enough and earned
an award, the corresponding icon will automatically appear in your
trophy case.
Who are “my fans” on my profile?
We all tend to like certain people based on their actions,
don't we? Well, if you find yourself admiring a certain artist for
helping you with your art techniques, critiquing something of yours,
adding helpful posts to the forum, or performing any admirable actions
at all, don't be afraid to show your appreciation! Simply view the
artist's profile and click on the thumbs up icon on the top right
hand corner to show your appreciation. Your click counts as one vote
towards the "Voting Award" for that artist to win that award.
Your fans will be these people that give you a thumbs up, or any other
artist who admires you or your artwork and chooses to become your
fan.
How can I cancel my profile?
If you feel the unfortunate desire to remove your profile from our
web site, simply click on the "Edit your Profile" button
and click on "Cancel my Profile". Your artwork, trophies,
and profile will then be removed from the web site.
Rankings:
What are the VisualContest rankings?
The rankings separate the top participants from lowest participants.
How are the top rankings determined?
The artist with the most trophies will be the top ranked artist. If
there is a tie between the amounts of awards artists have, then the
artist with the most awards will be top ranked.
I don’t agree with the VisualContest rankings, what can I
do?
Email us at info@visualcontest.com
or post new topic in the forum. Explain to us why you feel the way
you do, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Upload Artwork &
Picture:
How can I add artwork to my profile page?
Any registered user can upload art to their profile page.
You can do this by clicking “Enter Contest” on our home page or, clicking
“Upload Art” on your profile page. Either way, your artwork will be
automatically posted in your profile gallery.
How do I add artwork to weekly contest?
Upon uploading artwork onto your profile page, the artwork
is also automatically submitted into the weekly contest. The most
artwork a member may upload per week is three pieces. If you try to
upload more than three images per week, the extra images will only
show up in your personal profile. Only the first 3 pieces of artwork
that you download for that week will be entered into the weekly contest.
We highly recommended that you reserve your artwork and only download
3 pieces of artwork per week. That way, you will have more chances
to win weekly trophies.
How do I add artwork to seasonal contest?
Click on the "Our Contests"
button on the navigation system. Click on the "Seasonal Contest
Info." button, then click on "Submit artwork for seasonal
contest". Then fill our the necessary information, browse through
your artwork to select the piece that you would like to submit into
the contest. Each artist is allowed two submissions per seasonal contest,
and the piece should correspond with the given theme.
How can I add and change my default picture?
View your profile, click "Edit your profile" then
click the "browse" button where it reads, "upload your
ID image". Select the desired picture from your computer and
upload it.
Why submit your artwork with us?
Submitting your artwork to our web site secures your free
entry into our weekly contests. Not only does this ensure your participation,
but it acts as a free advertisement for yourself and your art. Your
submissions will be openly available to artists around the world,
giving your work exposure. Other artists will comment on your artwork
to help better your artistic abilities and learn more. Together as
a community, artists critique each other's work to grow and prosper.
At the same time, you can use your profile page as a personal online
portfolio.
What do I do when I see an inappropriate artwork or images?
To report an image for being inappropriate in relation to
what is expected of this web site, click on the report button. This
will notify us and from there we can decide if the image is in violation
of our standards or not. If it is, it will be removed immediately.
You also can email us at info@visualcontest.com.
Please provide the direct link to the image.
What photo formats are accepted on VisualContest.com?
To upload a piece of artwork, the image must be in a Jpeg,
Gif, or Png format. Animated Gif is not an accepted format on this
web site. If there is a problem, convert the image into one of the
accepted formats.
What is the maximum file size for a artwork uploaded on VisualContest.com?
When you upload an image, be sure that it does not exceed the size
of 1 MB. If an error occurs while trying to upload an image, this
may be due to the fact that the image is too large. Resize the image
then try once again to upload it as a smaller size.
Contest Information:
How can I participate in Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly contests?
Our Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly Contests are designed to
include participation from all registered users who upload art to
our website. Any registered member who uploads a piece of artwork
is automatically entered into our Weekly Contest. The Weekly Contest's
winners will automatically move on to Monthly and Yearly Contests.

How can I participate in Seasonal Contest?
Unlike Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly Contests; Seasonal Contests
are optional. An artist must choose to submit his/her work into a
seasonal contest. Seasonal Contests will be theme based, bearing a
new theme every contest. Artists must submit artwork relevant to the
theme, and the panel will eliminate any irrelevant pieces.

What are other art contest & opportunity listings?
We want to provide our members and visitors with every opportunity
in the art community. The “Art Contest
& Listing” page link is located on the navigation bar, and
is where you can find art contests and other opportunities outside
of our web site. These are contests organized by other businesses/companies
that our artists can be a part of.

Awards & Trophies
What is the trophy case in my profile?
So, the icons on the top of the profiles have caught your
eye? As you can see, this trophy case is divided into a left section
and a right section. The five icons on the left represent the categories
of five different participation awards that an artists can attain.
A faded blue icon shows that specific award has not yet been earned
. A bronze ribbon shows that the artist has earned the first degree
of achievement, which is the least difficult to earn. The silver star
shows the second degree, and the gold trophy shows the third, or highest
and most difficult degree of achievement. Each category has its own
specific standards to meet in order to earn a bronze, silver, or gold
award.
The right section displays all of the contest winner trophies that
an artist has earned. There are four different types of contest winner
trophies, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Seasonal Champion. There is
no limit to the amount of trophies that an artist can achieve, and
a number displaying the amount of a specific trophy an artist has
will be shown on the front of the trophy.
What are VisualContest Participation Awards & Trophies?
As artists grow and participate more in our web site, they
are able to earn awards and trophies to reward their achievements.
As mentioned above, there are 5 different categories of awards that
our members can earn. The five categories are as follows:

Upload Awards: The
amount of pieces of artwork an artists has uploaded onto the web
site.
Bronze = 5 uploads, Silver = 10 uploads, Gold = 20 uploads |

amount of posts an artist has added to our forum.
Bronze = 5 posts, Silver = 30 posts, Gold = 70 posts |

Voting Awards: The
amount of votes that a member has voted for different artwork
in our contests.

Approval Awards: The
amount of approvals an artist is given by other members. This
is often given by a fan of a particular artist for helping out
or having admired artwork.
Bronze = 5 approvals, Silver = 25 approvals, Gold = 50 approvals |

Seasonal Submissions:
The amount of artwork that an artist has submitted into a seasonal
contest.
Bronze = 1 submission, Silver = 3 submissions, Gold = 5 submissions |
What are the contest winner trophies?
Contest winner trophies are the awards that are earned by
winning one of our visual contests, including Weekly, Monthly, Yearly,
and Seasonal contests. Win any contest, and a trophy will appear in
your trophy case. As you win more trophies of that category, the number
on the trophy will increase. The four categories are as follows:

How do I get started?
To get started, you must register and upload your artwork to enter
the weekly contest today! Also, submit your artwork into the seasonal
contest! The more you participate, the greater the rewards will be
for your personal profile.

What is the VisualContest Forum?
The forum is for artists to interact with each other, share
tips, techniques, criticism, ideas, and much more! You can post any
questions, concerns, or problems you have with your artwork or our
web site.
Do I have to be a member to use the VisualContest forum?
Yes, only registered members are allowed to interact in the
forum. If you would like to post something but can't, become a member
today!
How do I post a comment?
Posting a comment to an existing topic is easy to do in the VisualContest
forums. Register users can simply fill out the comment box residing
within every topic post and then click submit. If a user wants to
respond not to the main topic but rather to a comment left by another
user, then they need only to click on the "Reply to this comment"
link beneath the comment they wish to reply, fill out the comment
box that appears, and click submit. Only registered members of VisualContest
can post topic responses within the forums. If you are not a member,
